Monday, July 31, 2006 ( My Beloved Nation. From this land i was born, For this Land I shall protect ) 9th August 1965, Singapore declared independence after separating from Malaysia. Firstly, I would like to say that IM PROUD TO BE A SINGAPOREAN!!! To those who read this and think I lame, well, you can go to hell! Cmon, wake up youths of Singapore.I cant believe that some youths are complaining that we don't have enough of this and that and yakkity-yakktiy-yak! You just a pampered and 'protected' bunch of sissies who just cant accept the way our nation's leaders had done for us. Yes, creative feedback is welcomed. However, there are some who just cant stop babble around about the 'poor' standards we have right now. HELLO..? You call the standards in Singapore 'poor'? Try going to London, or New York LATE IN THE NIGHT??? I'll bet you will probably regret what you said. I agree that there are some systems which needs to be polished. But hey, where on this Earth we can find a 'perfect' system? Cmon, Singapore is just 41, compare to USA which has 200 YEARS of independence, shouldn't you think that we are very VERY fast developing??? Yes in Singapore, money is everything, but without YOU, Singapore is nothing. There will be no such things as HDB, Changi Airport, CBD etc etc. We still probably under Malaysia right now with PAP just an opposition and we're thinking what will UMNO be doing next? For once, I believe that Singapore is lucky to be, well, Singapore. Good location on the maritime map. A central land of the world. A vibrant and stable country. Gosh I will fight for this land to those invaders who think we can be defeated. We are facing a lot of crisis now. Israel, in particular. Natural disasters in Indonesia. Political uncertainty in Thailand and Myanmar. Gosh, we must be prepared for anything. Learn First-Aid for goodness sakes! For Singapore, you are my country. I'll stand by you, fight for you, to protect those who call you their home.... 10:09 PM Friday, July 28, 2006 ( Hmmm... ) Alright lets see now what have Izzat been up to lately............. Been busy catching up with my studies after my shooting at mediacorp... Kinda feel irritated by the producers and all coz they just don't know how to manage their casts... Once i had to come down in the wee hours for a shooting.. But in the end, I just sat there at Toa Payoh Interchange talking to the Anugerah guy, Shah Iskandar. He and I share a bit of interest so we instantly clicked man.. Not bad to talk to a star just like that.. haha Im gonna miss talking to them... Very fun we had.. cracking jokes and throwing insults at 'Them'... haha Hmmm.. wad else eh..? Oh... Im gonna wear braces pretty soon.. 2 months from now... Gonna have a makeover... But a very long timeline of a makeover i shall have.. haha Club camp coming soo and I have to find food for them... Gonna take charge of security since God knows how many guys are trying to 'socialize' with the new female recruits... Heex... Well thats for now folks.. be back in another 'week or 2' to update... Maybe earlier if somebody keep 'pestering' me.. Heex =) 10:17 PM Wednesday, July 19, 2006 ( Acting is fun, BUT tough ) Since Monday(17th July 06) till Wednesday(19th July 06), I spent my time at mediacorp studio and on-sight locations to shoot some films. Here is the details. Monday: Was in the studio at Caldecott Broadcast Centre. Went in and got assigned to act as a policeman in a new upcoming series, Without Warning. Initially, my friends and I thought we are just acting as the victims, but NOOO. I have to be the 'hero'.. Haks! The stars in there.. Mostly from Suria cast which I have no idea who. Got this call, Nadia. Anyone knows? Tuesday & Wednesday Acted in the Life Story: LT Adnan. The star; Aaron Aziz as LT Adnan. Hakz.. That guy is a joker.. Seriously... Though he look freaking serious. Must be the stress. I played as a soldier and the Kampung man.. Try imagining me with white short and a sarong.. You'll get the picture... Tuesday, we went to the forested area near Lornie Road.. There, we have to run near a Chinese cemetery.. POWER!!! Then proceed to the last kampung in Singapore: Lorong Buangkok. Played the kampung man there. Then have to play the kompang coz Aaron, eh i mean, Adnan, is getting married(again). Hahakz! Wednesday, we went to Old Changi Hospital. The infamous haunted place. We all were wearing the soldier uniform... Haha.. Aaron again cracked jokes. We were like holding our laughter till the director said, "CUT", then we all were bursting with laughter... Damn fun lar... Oh yar... I met the Spore Idol contestants.. Met the ROCK CHICK.. Rahimah!!! Freaking funny la.. we chatted and talk about HER only.. till I forget to take a photo or ask a autograph.. Frankly, she's nice... Oh ya! Saw FIONA XIE!!!! We locked eyes, she smiled, I melted, she waves, Im flattered... What more can I do??? Then she just gone from my sight.. Will never forget that moment... She's AWESOME.... Well, hope the fun never ends.. Next week still got more filming to do.. I wonder how my studies gonna get affected.. *DAMN* 10:09 PM Sunday, July 16, 2006 ( It's just like that ) I had literally fallen into this depth, which ironically, I had restrained myself from doing it. For fear that somehow it may hurt me. Now that I'm looking from the bottom, I ponder of what had made me lead to this place. Am I in love with you? Am I just dreaming of Love? Am I missing Love? What the hell. Seems like I really do need to shake this out of my head... What am I doing? You're not interested in me. Just my own mind playing tricks with me. Woi, Mind! Stop making me lose face! Can't you see that I'm suffering here? *sigh* Will be busy the next 2 weeks filming 2 new drama series. Let me emphasize that I'm just an EXTRA. Means that I'll just play the 'background people'. Know what I mean? At least I could play a part in a drama and meet some superstars... Will have plenty of things to catch up. Failed a few modules and that send shockwaves in me. Cmon Izzat! Chaiyo! *Self-motivation helps in reducing the amount of stress one can accumulate* Now I'm just mugging through my textbooks and notes. I'm crossing my fingers that I could make it through to the exams. Never want to think about letting my parents down. *Be Brave and face your Fear. Only then you'll know how to find the Solution ~Izzat aka Blue Guardian 10:15 PM Tuesday, July 11, 2006 ( Zinedine Zidane & the Three Headed Monster ) If you were one of the billion people who watched Sunday’s World Cup final, you saw French superstar Zinedine Zidane struck by an affliction to which no human can claim immunity: ANGER. Many soccer experts, aficionados, and critics agree that Zidane is soccer’s greatest player of the last 20 years. Pele, the Brazilian legend, refers to Zidane as Maestro. Zidane’s proven skill and leadership already lifted France to the 1998 World Cup championship. But in Sunday’s final with the whole world watching and for a reason nobody understands, the French legend angrily headbutted an Italian player in the chest leading to Zidane’s subsequent red card and ejection. France went on to lose in a penalty kick shootout… Zidane’s specialty. This is a lesson the yogis have passed down for thousands of years. No matter their talent, strength, or determination, every single human being is susceptible to anger, lust, and greed. To live out the depth of one’s purpose, he must develop the skills to overcome this three-headed monster. Zidane faced the monster and sorely lacked what the The Dalai Lama referred to as the rarest form of human strength: the ability to maintain an open heart in a moment of extreme anger. Here are some techniques to develop this rare form of strength and cope with anger: 1) Make a habit of taking that oh so difficult first step away from the situation, person, email or phone call that incites your wrath. Walk the other direction, turn off your phone, shut down your computer. It’s always worth it. “If you are patient in 1 moment of anger you will avoid 100 days of sorrow.” -Zen proverb 2) Kill ‘em with kindness. Tell the person who pisses you off how much you love them. Tell the person who drives you nuts how much you appreciate their testing your “strength.” Tell the person who makes you crazy that no matter how mad, you won’t pull a “Zidane.” “As the sun makes ice melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate.” –Albert Schweitzer 3) Open your heart…literally. The yogis believe that even a basic backbend opens the heart evoking love. Be your own hero next time you face the three-headed monster. Take a step back, interlace your hands behind your back, let the chest and heart protrude slightly forward, and take a few deep breaths. This will instantly open the heart and dissipate anger.
